Here are three physios and what makes them ……. Unique!

Welcome to Sports Therapy where we want to help you – “Get it Fixed”. We pride ourselves in one on one sessions so we can get to know YOU as an individual.  We specifically plan around what drives you and how to best purpose design your rehabilitation to get you back to your unique physical demands.  We treat all sorts of injuries from all sorts of different activities (including elephant polo!! – you would be amazed!!) Our physios are passionate about their profession and pack a lot into their lives too! We all practise what we preach, after all, movement in life is the key and that is why you will see all our physios and administration staff out in the community involved in many sports.

Now UNIQUELY NELSON has given us the chance to let you know some of us a little better.  Here are three physios and what makes them ……. unique.

CHRIS WAHNIG –

A downhill mountain biker who loves the thrill of a steep track. Coupled with his weight lifting evenings at the gym, is it any doubt how Chris keeps himself so fit and active?  Chris has been the man behind the scenes and running on the field in support of our emerging young rugby stars with his involvement in the local Nelson College First XV games, and the Tasman U19s.  His involvement in  the locally run Crusaders Rugby Academy has made him THE MAN when it comes to injury prevention and rehabilitation and he is excited to be part of the new rugby academy initiative at Nelson College this year.

JANE ROSSITER.

This extremely busy mother works part-time for us and has done since shortly after graduating.  After going away to have a family, she returns to Sports Therapy as a mother of 3 yet still finds the time to represent the 35+ Tasman Women’s Hockey team.  Thanks to their awesome Physio keeping the teams injuries at bay in a hectic tournament (yes .… that was Jane too!) the team –  proudly attired in Sports Therapy sponsored warm up jerseys – travelled to Hamilton this March to bring home a silver medal at the NEW ZEALAND CHAMPS. WELL DONE YOU!!!!!

KRISTIE HUGHES

Our super mum has one of the busiest schedules around. A former practice owner in Wanaka, Kristie is now settled into the Nelson lifestyle as a proud mother of a 2 year old son.  Not only is she a top notch orthopaedic physio to our clients with special interests in acupuncture and manual therapy working evenings for us, but by day she has extended her expert skills and knowledge of anatomy to become a CANINE PHYSIO!  Imagine trying to poke around a Rottweiler to find out where it hurts knowing he has only one way of letting you know!! Despite a few close calls, Kristie (now mother of 2 wonderful Canine children too) is always happy.  How do you do it Kristie??
