Surf the Wave : Building Personal Resilience
Why is it that some people seem to bounce back from setbacks, navigate through challenging times and move on, while others get stuck in a holding pattern?
Research shows that people who embody resiliency skills are more able to cope with changes efficiently and bounce back from traumatic events. In fact, not only are they able to cope with the change, they often describe the change as being a positive experience.
Resilient people aren’t lucky. They share certain characteristics. It’s not one characteristic, it’s a set of characteristics that combined enable them to cope under pressure.
The good news is that we can all build our resilience muscle both mentally and physically.
In this short, sharp session I’ll introduce you to the four pillars of resilience. You’ll get to self assess your personal resiliency toolkit and go away with some simple things you can do to build your resilience muscle. You’ll also go away having extended your life by 7 ½ minutes…. yes really!
